Dr. Melanie Cottone-Zarra, DMSc, PA-C, is a course instructor at Intellectual Medicine University, specializing in Transition to Practice and Biostatistics. Melanie began her career in New York City as a PA, focusing on cardiac medicine and surgery. She currently serves as the APP Professional Development and Education Specialist and Assistant Director of APP Fellowships at Tampa General Hospital. With a passion for education, she has developed structured orientation programs and ongoing training initiatives for APPs, students, residents, and fellows. Melanie has also been published in peer-reviewed journals and orientation curricula through her specialties. As a team lead appraiser for the ANCC’s Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Accreditation program, Melanie also holds academic appointments as a Clinical Associate Professor at South University and an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. She is pursuing a second master’s degree in Health Informatics, alongside her Doctor of Medical Science, Master of Health Administration, and dual BS degrees.
